New School Year is coming!

Our new school year is right around the corner and we are so excited to get started!

Your child should receive a letter from their teacher sometime next week and we have Meet the Teacher night on Monday, August 14.

Our first day of school is Tuesday, August 15 at 9am.

We still have just a couple openings in our 3 year old classes, if you refer a family who signs up (and lists you as their referral on the yellow registration form) you will receive a coupon for a free Stay and Play day!

We hope everyone is enjoying their summer and we are looking forward to seeing everyone soon! Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have as school draws nearer.

Can you believe the last day of school is this Thursday? We are so blessed to have been able to teach, nurture and love your children this year!  Please join us on Thursday, May 11th for our Spring Sing and Promotion program.

Come straight to the church sanctuary once you drop your child off in the morning. We will begin our photo montage at 9:15 am.  Your child will return to class after the program to enjoy the remainder of their special day.

It’s been a wonderful year!  Thank you for sharing your children with us!  See you on Thursday!

Easter Parties

We had a fun and busy week at preschool this week with pictures on Wednesday and Easter parties on Thursday.

The children really enjoyed finding their eggs outside and kept a look out for the Easter Bunny :).

We would love to see you here at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church Sunday morning for our Easter service if you are looking for somewhere to attend.

Have a blessed and safe Easter weekend.

Construction Week

The threes students have had a fun filled week learning all about construction!

Students were able to saw and sand a board, nail wood and glue supplies to make a wood sculpture and many other fun activities. What an exciting week!

We are also loving the new shade structure out on the playground. We were sad to see the beautiful tree go but the new structure is wonderful.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Next week is spring break (March 20-24), have a fun and safe time. We look forward to hearing all the stories the students will have to share when they come back to school. 🙂

The Pre-K classes had a fun time today hunting around the campus for Leprechauns. When they got back to their rooms, they found his footprints and a special treat but did not see him, maybe next year!

Welcome Back and Happy New Year!

sun5Happy New Year! Calling all St. Paul’s Preschoolers.  Who is ready to get back to school?

We are excited to start the new year and welcome back all of our friends.  We can’t wait to hear all about your Christmas fun!

See you tomorrow.

New Playground!

Today the new playground equipment was installed.  The children LOVED the new equipment.  Never forget that although a playground is fun, fun, fun, it is also vital for development of young children.

The benefits of unstructured outdoor play as discussed in The Developmental Benefits of Playgrounds are the abilities to make decisions, work and play within a community of others, and to try out ideas and explore the play environment.  Also highlighted are the benefits of pretend play, which has recently been shown to further the development of brain synaptic connections.

Our new playground will instill imaginative pretend play with our School Bus and Fire Truck.  Our kiddos will build strong muscles and improve large motor skills with our new Spring Rider and Funnel Ball, while they learn to work together.  Of course, the classic slide and climbing structures build little muscles and help children control the movement of their arms and legs.

Please remember, when your children play after school:  Remind them to follow playground rules, such as not spinning in the swings, no standing on the spring rider or seats of play equipment.  Remember our playground is designed for children preschool age through second grade only.   Children must be supervised at all times.

On a side note, our new shade structure will be installed in about 6- 8 weeks!
