Hard to believe, we have gone through two weeks of school already. We have an amazing bunch of teachers who provide a fun filled, learning environment each and every day. So fun to watch the children learning, playing and exploring with magnets, painting with friends, marching with musical instruments, sailing boats, erupting a red volcano, learning how to make friends and be kind, learning about shapes, letters and numbers, discovering we all have jobs, reading stories, dancing, singing, playing games, outside play and learning all the rules of preschool…..we have a lot of rules…and so much more!
Well today was an exciting start to the first day. The sky decided to open up and pour. I don’t mean just little rain…we were greeted with a downpour, thunder and lightning. Remarkably, the kiddos did not mind. They just missed playground time. We had one of the best first days ever. Very few tears, and those moms should be better tomorrow. The kiddos did great! Looking forward to a great day tomorrow.
Celebrate the start of a new school year with a special time of fellowship! Tears and excitement will be shared by all.
Coffee, muffins and cookies will be served, and younger siblings are invited.
Join other moms, dads and grandparents in the A-Frame anytime between 9am and 11am after you drop off your child.
Hosted by St. Paul’s United Methodist Church Children Ministries Team

It is hard to believe that the lazy days of summer will soon be over. We hope all of our preschool families have enjoyed their family vacations, hanging out at the pool and reading a book or two. July 25 is just around the corner and it is the the date when our preschool teachers send out their welcome letters. The teachers are currently busy getting their classrooms ready for another exciting school year.
Just a reminder…we request NO backpacks be brought to school. All new students will receive a St. Paul’s Preschool tote bag. Returning students -Bring your tote bag from last year to school every day. You can also purchase a new one at Meet Your Teacher night.
Mark your calendars for Meet Your Teacher night on August 8,where you will meet your teachers and classmates. The first full month of tuition and snack fee will be collected and parents will have the option to purchase school shirts and additional totes. Children who will turn four by September will have the opportunity to sign up for Whiz Kids. See you soon and feel free to contact the Director with any questions. The first day of school is August 9. For those pre-k children signed up for Monday’s Soaring class, please know that it will begin September 12.
We are excited to once again offer our very popular Pre-K program, Whiz Kids, for the upcoming school year. Registration for the first session will take place at Meet the Teacher night. Should you wish to get your child on the list for the first 7 week session, contact the Director today to add your name to the list. The class is limited to 14 children.
What is Whiz Kids?
Put the IPad down and get unplugged!
Through the Whiz Kids Enrichment Program, children will have the opportunity to discover their ever changing and growing world. Through movement, games and teacher engaged activities, participants will take a creative and fun approach to increase their math and science awareness.
The goal is to hear the kiddos say,
“WOW! I didn’t know math and science was so much fun!”
Due to the extreme popularity of this program, we will offer four 7 week sessions for the 2016/17 school year. For children to receive the full benefit of this program, they should have turned four years old. Once your three year old is four, they will be eligible to participate. Space is limited. The first session will begin August 31, 2016. Sign up for Session 1 today, or on Meet Your Teacher Night. There is an additional fee for the program.
Hope everyone is staying cool and enjoying their summer. The preschool has been busy painting and doing our annual summer scrubbing getting ready for the new school year!
Although there is still time for more summer fun, school is just around the corner. Only eight more weeks and we will begin another wonderful school year. For now, we look forward to seeing many of our preschool friends at Vacation Bible School next week.
Welcome letters for preschool will be sent out around July 25. Please let us know now if your situation has changed and your child is unable to attend school this year, so we may notify one of the many families on our waiting list.
Where has the time gone?
We are sad to say our last day of school is May 12, 2016.
The last week of school will include a fun week of favorite activities including the always popular Eegees, Popcorn & Bubbles Day. The prek kiddos will also have crazy hair and water balloon fun on Wednesday.
The week will end with our annual spring sing and promotion ceremony. We will begin the slide show around 9:15 in the church sanctuary. After the children sing, they will go to the Narthex and then walk down the aisle to be presented and receive ribbon medallions. After all classes are presented, you will have the brief opportunity to take class photos, however, we ask that the children remain on the stage with their teachers and class. At the conclusion of the program, all children will return to their classrooms with their teachers. Photos with teachers can be taken in the classroom. Thanks to all the families who are able to share in this special day, and who have supported us throughout the year.
It is always hard to say goodbye. Especially to the little ones who will be going off to kindergarten. We know that we have given them our best and that they are ready to join the world of big kids as they continue their learning adventure, but we will miss their special hugs. Mrs. Monier’s sentiment from a few years ago still holds true for each new class of children that pass through our doors. “Finished my last day of preschool – As I opened my classroom door at the end of the day, it dawned on me that it wasn’t so much about what I’d taught them, but all the things they taught me: How to laugh, tolerance, pure joy, curiosity and unconditional love, just to name a few. So, to my little people, my best wishes will always follow you, along with a piece of my heart! Love you all!”
We are excited to welcome back Mr. Bill for storytime tomorrow. For those who don’t know, Mr. Bill is the amazing storyteller from Bear Canyon Public Library.
It is always a special treat for the children when Mr. Bill comes for a visit.
